In 1996 Dr. Don McKenzie of the University of British Columbia launched Abreast In A Boat, a project to research the effects of repetitive upper body exercise in women (and men) treated for breast cancer.

The use of dragon boating as a means to help women with breast cancer has now grown to over 150 teams worldwide, including teams in Cork, Waterford, Clonmel, Donegal, Belfast and Mayo. Please get in touch if you would like to list your group below.
